We are so stressed at the end of the day, so tired and so fagged out that the mind feels numbed and the body lame
So how do we inspire ourselves to find but a minute? First we need to understand just how important it is to remember Allah Ta’ala.
Says Allah Ta’ala:
“Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth…” (Al- Qur’an, Surah Al-‘Imran 3:191)
“O ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. Those who falter in this are indeed the losers” (Al- Qur’an, Surah Al- Munafiqun 63:9)
Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihiwasallam said :
“Shall I not tell you about the best of deeds, the most pure in the sight of your Lord, about the one that is of the highest order and is far better for you than spending gold and silver, even better for you than meeting your enemies in the battlefield where you strike at their necks and they at yours?” The Companions replied, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “Remembrance of Allah.” (Tirmidhi, Ahmad)
Keep a Tasbeeh in as many places as possible: In the car, by the bedside, in the pocket, by the couch, in the office. This will serve as a reminder, Insha Allah. A minute here, and a minute there until a stage comes when a person’s Rooh (soul) is restless just as his stomach is restless when he is hungry.
Relax with a Tasbeeh and with Allah’s Name on the tongue and His Love in the heart. There is no better way to “chill out” or de-stress. It’s free of charge. And the Thawwab (reward), O the Thawaab – just imagine that when we take Allah’s Name, He takes our names and when we remember Him, He remembers Us. What else could one want in life? What else could one need in life?
Obtain this great wealth – start with just a minute!
